Volunteers are needed to help gather signatures on a voter initiated petition.
This weekend is the beginning a concerted effort to attend events where the public can sign the petition and / or pick up petitions to circulate. Upcoming events are good places to take the petitions. Hosting an event at your neighborhood meeting place, neighborhood park or even your kitchen is also a good idea.
The New Mexico Restaurant Association has endorsed the opposition to A.R.T. due to the negative impact it will have on the restaurants along Central Avenue. They have asked their members to put petitions at their restaurants. This weekend there this event will assist getting those petitions out to the restaurants.
Local volunteer advocates have been circulating petitions to deny funding for the A.R.T. project. They need Albuquerque area businesses who are willing to collect names on petitions or have petitions available at their business. How can you help? Pick up petitions and materials on Saturday, 8/13 from 10 am to 2 pm at:
